Wethersfield Youth Wrestling Program The Wethersfield Wrestling Club sponsors a youth wrestling program open to all resident and non-resident elementary and middle school aged students. The "Red Eagle Wrestling" program was started in 2003 to introduce wrestling at the elementary and middle school levels (open to grades 1 through 8, boys and girls). The Club is affiliated with Wrestling USA-CT (http://www.usawct.org/), the governing body for all amateur competition. During the season (November through the end of February), this affiliation makes competition available to younger wrestlers to compete within their age, weight and skill level. The cornerstones of this program are safety, equality, and fairness.
This year Wethersfield Youth Wrestling is excited to be part of a new Middle School wrestling league. Eight teams from Central Connecticut have formed a league that will allow Middle School Wrestlers to compete in team competition similar to that of the High School Team. This is an exciting new development for our program and we encourage middle school students to sign up.
