12-30-08   Wethersfield Wrestlers suffered a 60-15 loss against South Windsor. Earning points for WHS were Diego Perez  (decision), James Queiros (pin), and Subby Buccheri (pin).  The match up with Branford was cancelled.  Next event will be on Saturday, January 3rd at Rockville, 10 AM - Teams scheduled for the Dual meet format matches are Classical Magnet, Enfield, Platt and Rockville.

12-27-08   Wethersfield places fourth in the George Kisluk Tournament.

Wethersfield placed fourth in this weekends Rocky Hill Invitational held at the Classical Magnet School. Seven WHS wrestlers advanced to the final rounds to receive medals.

12-23-08     Wethersfield wins its first conference match of the season, defeating  Windsor 63 -15. Although Windsor fielded a team of about 18 wrestlers, they were unable to fill all weight classes and gave up six matches by forfeit at 112,119,130,135, and 145 lbs.

Lauren Pinney, (103), started off the match with a 25-20 decision. At 125 lbs., Matt Martel recorded a pin at the end of the 1st period. Another quick pin was added to the score at the 140 lb. weight class. This was followed by a pin by Malik McGarrah, (152), with 12 seconds left in his bout. Jay Queiros scored a 2nd period pin at 171 lbs and John Fabie ended the match with an early 1st period pin over his opponent.
